Getting
a basic understanding of PhotoShop is a key objective of
the training. Take notes at your own speed, use any
training material brought to the sessions and discuss
your aspirations with the trainer who is an industry
professional.

Course content:
Interface:
Understanding the interface and knowing where to
find your tools is the first big step. We look at
buttons and tool tips, quick keys and shortcuts.
Layers:
There is nothing so brilliant in PhotoShop than
Layers. We show you how to make new layers, use
them, organise them and make special fx.
Selections:
The power of Layers is enhanced with this
flexible and powerful tool. We explain some of
the effects you can produce with a few simple
clicks and some of the more complex options.
Masks:
Some tools in PhotoShop appear almost magical.
This is one of those tools. We help you discover
how to master this mysterious part of image
making.
Blending:
As if you haven’t learnt enough,
there’s more. Here is a box of digital
tricks that will keep you entranced for the rest
of your digital life. You will also become very
boring in company when you declare “I know
how they do that...”
Filters:
Ok, so this bit is cool too and I love it, so
I’m expecting you will have to say
“ooh” and “ahh” when I hold
up the card. This is the heart of special
effects.
File Formats:
This is where we teach the rules, do’s and
dont’s about saving and bit depths and
stuff. Really important but a bit geeky. Hey
nothing wrong with that.
